Chelsea McKelvey is a PhD student in English Literature at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Her research interests include English Renaissance literature, early modern writing, sermons, and performance. Recently, Literature and Theology published her article “The ‘Glorie, Might, and Maiestie’ of Early Modern Sermons,” which discusses the rhetoric of a sermon preached by William Loe before King James VI and I and Prince Charles in the midst of the Spanish Match. Her analysis demonstrates how the rhetoric of early modern sermons reflects larger literary trends of the period.

Currently, her research focuses on the literary implications of changes to theology and religious practice brought about by the English Reformation.
